Ferrari targets Q3 fix with suspension upgrade
Ferrari will introduce a new rear suspension at Spa, hoping it works well with the floor upgrade they brought to Silverstone to finally show the car’s true speed. The new suspension should let the car run lower to the ground, something they couldn’t do earlier because of a disqualification in China. But Charles Leclerc says there’s a different issue in qualifying, especially in Q3 at fast tracks, which may be linked to the engine losing power after long full-throttle runs. Data shows Ferrari gains the least time from Q2 to Q3 compared to other top teams, which suggests they still have work to do to fix these problems.

How Simpson went from pay driver to podium finisher
Kyffin Simpson was once seen as a “pay driver” who got his IndyCar seat because of his dad’s sponsorship, not talent. His first season in 2024 was poor, with only one top-12 finish and 21st in the standings. But in 2025, he has improved a lot with strong results, including a fifth place in Detroit and his first podium in Toronto. He is now 14th in the standings and is showing that he deserves his place on the grid.

Indiana Pacers Siakam to drive Brickyard 400 pace car
Indiana Pacers All-Star Pascal Siakam will drive the pace car for Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This comes two months after the Pacers played on the same day as the Indy 500, one of only four times both events happened on the same day. Siakam will lead the NASCAR drivers in a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV SS on the 2.5-mile oval. He grew up in Cameroon, started basketball at 17, and later became a three-time All-Star and NBA champion.

FW47 still struggling with overheating
Williams team principal James Vowles said the team is not getting the full performance out of its FW47 because of recurring cooling issues that have affected both drivers during races. Alexander Albon retired from two events earlier in the season, including Austria, where he had been running as high as sixth before the car overheated. Vowles explained that while they’ve found ways to manage the problem, it still forces them to sacrifice performance, and the team is working hard to fix it without those compromises. A small upgrade is coming for Spa, but he stressed the need to improve qualifying and wet-weather pace and to make the most of the car they already have for the rest of the season.
