How Zilisch may fall victim to NASCAR’s playoff system
Connor Zilisch got his 10th Xfinity win at Gateway, which gave him the regular season title and a 59-point lead for the playoffs. Since he still needs FIA Super Licence points, he will race in Formula 2 in 2026 to gain experience and meet the requirements. Some worry he could be pushed into F1 too early, like Logan Sargeant, who struggled after being rushed. Cadillac is advised to take its time with Herta and not give him a full F1 seat before 2028.
