How McLaren could seal title in Baku

McLaren is first in the 2025 F1 constructors’ championship with 617 points and could beat Red Bull’s 2023 record if it keeps its current pace. There are eight grands prix and three sprint races left, and a 1-2 in each could push them over 1000 points. To win the title at Azerbaijan, McLaren must finish ahead of Ferrari by nine points or get a 1-2. A strong result there would give McLaren its second straight constructors’ championship.

No room for 12th team

F1 boss Stefano Domenicali says the sport cannot add a 12th team soon because there is no more space. Cadillac will join in 2026 as the 11th team with Ferrari engines and later their own. Some tracks, like Monaco, are too small for more cars. Andretti’s team was rejected, but Cadillac’s plan is accepted and helpful for F1.
