Red Bull strikes big partnership with Carlyle

Carlyle, a $23bn investment company, has agreed a long-term deal with Red Bull Racing, its first move into Formula 1. The goal is to grow global reach, use new technology, and attract more investors as big brands keep joining F1. Red Bull, now behind McLaren, sees this deal as key for the future. Carlyle’s boss says it will bring long-term value and connect with younger fans and investors.

Trackhouse under fire for post-race tactic

After Sunday’s NASCAR race at World Wide Technology Raceway, Ross Chastain and Shane Van Gisbergen went along the wall and through the grass on the cool-down lap. Alex Bowman noticed and mentioned it on the radio. Some believe it was a way to gain extra weight on their cars before inspection. NASCAR has not yet given a response but may address it soon.

Bubba Wallace explains close call in NASCAR playoff

Bubba Wallace nearly caused a crash at the Enjoy Illinois 300 when his car didn’t start properly on lap 156, and Kyle Larson had to avoid him. Both lost spots, with Wallace in eighth and Larson in 12th. Wallace apologized and said he needs to do restarts better. Wallace is still fourth in the playoffs, and Larson is third.

IndyCar drivers ranked from worst to best

Alex Palou had a strong season, with eight race victories and finishing first in the championship. Pato O’Ward came second with steady performances, while Kyle Kirkwood and Christian Lundgaard also did well. Some other drivers showed skill at times but couldn’t match the top competitors. Overall, Palou was clearly the best this year.

Verstappen to debut at Nürburgring Nordschleife

Max Verstappen will take part for the first time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife this weekend. Earlier this year, he practiced there in secret under the name Franz Hermann. On Friday, he must pass a test to drive a Porsche Cayman GT4 CS, and he may later switch to a Ferrari 296 GT3. This has raised questions about how long he will stay in Formula 1, as he enjoys other motorsport challenges too.
