Pirelli open to F1’s proposed two mandatory pitstops

Most F1 races this year only needed one pitstop because the tyres last a long time. Teams avoid extra stops to save time and avoid mistakes. Some people, like Pirelli and Max Verstappen, want two pitstops in 2026 to make races more unpredictable. The FIA and teams are still undecided.

NASCAR increases Cup driver entries in lower divisions

NASCAR will let Cup drivers join more events in the lower series in 2026. They can now take part in up to ten Xfinity and eight Truck events instead of five each. The rule still stops them from playoffs or championship rounds. NASCAR also lowered the Xfinity age limit from 18 to 17 for short tracks and road courses.

WRC champion Kalle Rovanperä completes F2 test

Kalle Rovanperä, a two-time World Rally Champion, has completed his first official Formula 2 test in Spain as he begins a new chapter in motorsport. He performed well and said he was pleased with the results. Rovanperä plans to join Japan’s Super Formula in 2026 and move to Formula 2 in 2027 as part of his goal to reach Formula 1. He admitted it won’t be easy but said he’s ready to learn and push himself in this challenge.

Jesse Love wins Xfinity title in Phoenix

Jesse Love took the lead with 24 laps left at Phoenix Raceway and went on to win the race and the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series title. His Richard Childress Racing team made big changes that helped the car get faster after a slow start. Love passed his best friend Connor Zilisch to secure the win, while last year’s champion Justin Allgaier finished fifth. The 20-year-old said the victory felt unreal and thanked his family and team for their hard work.

Senna’ miracle McLaren could fetch $15m

Ayrton Senna’s McLaren MP4/6, the car he drove in the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix with only one gear, is set for auction and could sell for up to $15 million. The race is remembered for Senna’s fight to stay in control while in pain but still won at home. The MP4/6 was McLaren’s last championship car with a powerful Honda V12 engine. RM Sotheby’s will sell it next month, and it may become one of the most valuable F1 cars ever.
