Internal frustration grows at Mercedes after Mexico GP
Mercedes upset both drivers in the Mexico Grand Prix after a mid-race decision to swap George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Russell had more speed but could not pass Ollie Bearman, and by the time the swap happened, his car was worn, and they finished sixth and seventh. Antonelli was surprised by the decision and felt it cost them a chance at fourth place. Mercedes said it’s unclear if an earlier swap would have helped and will review the situation to avoid the same problem in future races.

Kyle Busch files $8.5M lawsuit against insurance company
Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha filed a case against Pacific Life Insurance after they say they were misled into life insurance policies presented as safe retirement plans. They say Pacific Life and agent Rodney Smith gave false promises, hid real risks, and ignored Smith’s past disciplinary problems. The lawsuit accuses the company of poor oversight and deceptive sales practices. The Busches say they filed the case to warn others about similar scams.

Ed Carpenter Racing expands to junior racing
Ed Carpenter Racing has teamed up with Cape Motorsports for the 2026 Indy Nxt season, with Nikita Johnson as their driver. The team will help with car setup and support for drivers and engineers under the name “Cape Motorsports powered by ECR.” Team owner Ed Carpenter, who competed in Indy Nxt before, wants to create a clear path from entry-level series to IndyCar with Jay Howard Driver Development. The goal of the partnership is to develop young drivers and prepare the next generation of open-wheel stars.

Abel chases second chance in IndyCar
Jacob Abel had a difficult first IndyCar season in 2025 after a strong 2024 Indy NXT year where he was second with three wins. He faced problems with team changes, bad luck, and a loss of confidence. Abel says both he and the team made mistakes but also learned from them. Now he wants another chance with Dale Coyne Racing to show he deserves to stay in IndyCar.

SailGP names Fever as official ticket partner
SailGP has teamed up with Fever, which will handle its ticket sales from 2026 to 2028. Fever’s app will make it easier for fans to find and buy tickets for SailGP events around the world. The deal will also help more people discover and attend races. Both groups say the partnership will make SailGP events more fun and easier to access for fans.
