Qualifying in Jeddah never disappoints! The high speeds of this street circuit produced captivating views and even more mesmerizing racing. Here's what happened:

  • Ollie Bearman returned to Saudi Arabia for the second time in his Formula 1 career, this time in a full-time seat with Haas instead of a temporary stint with Ferrari when Carlos Sainz had his appendix removed. His
  • Pierre Gasly was late to his final flying lap in Q1 after a mechanic installed the tire without fully removing the tire warmer. It was stuck and needed to be removed before Gasly could leave the pit box. He was able to put together the lap and advance to Q2
  • Gabriel Bortoleto moved out of Max Verstappen's slip stream but didn't brake in time, causing him to spin out and temporarily yellow flag Q1. He finished in P20
  • Liam Lawson had his first Q2 lap time deleted for going wide at turn 10 and wasn't able to find enough pace in the Racing Bulls car to make it out of the drop zone. He finished in P12 just behind Alex Albon
  • Lando Norris ran wide at the exit of turn 5 during his first flying lap of Q3. His car hit the wall, and while he was OK his session was over. The crash eliminted Norris from the session without a time and red flagged the track while the car was recovered
  • Max Verstappen showed his skill when it counts, putting it on provisional pole ahead of Oscar Piastri by 1 millisecond. It meant Max needed to quickly switch to a new set of soft tires, and it forced Oscar back out on track
  • In the final laps of Q3, George Russell beat out Max Verstappens lap time before being displaced by Oscar Piastri
  • But in the final seconds the Dutchman did it again, outperforming Oscar and George to secure pole ahead of Sunday's Grand Prix
