Ferrari form eases 2026 overhaul plans

Ferrari’s stronger results in the last two races have made the team change its plans for the 2026 car. After months of floor and suspension problems, the car has recently shown good speed and stability. Because of this, Ferrari has decided to keep most of its current design instead of big changes. The new 2026 car, called Project 678, will now only get small updates and a new engine intake system.

McSwain takes over Chastain’s pit box

Ross Chastain will get a new crew chief in 2026. Brandon McSwain, who worked as an engineer at Hendrick Motorsports for six years, will take over from Phil Surgen. Chastain and Surgen won six races together, the 2025 Coca-Cola 600 among them. Surgen will move to a new role, and Trackhouse Racing has made other changes after a weaker 2025 season.

Kirkwood signs contract extension with Andretti

Kyle Kirkwood will stay with Andretti Global beyond 2025. He’s won five races and proven he can fight for the IndyCar title. His strong 2025 season made him one of the top drivers. Andretti sees him as an important part of their future plans.

F1 Academy picks Bo’ness karting star for new program

10-year-old Khloe McGill from Bo’ness has been chosen by the F1 Academy for a new program in the UAE. She will travel to Abu Dhabi with support, gear, and guidance from the academy. Khloe started when she was six and is already seen as one of the best young talents. She’ll get help from Susie Wolff and other big F1 names as she works toward her dream of Formula 1.

Herta completes first F2 test

Colton Herta completed his first Formula 2 test at Monza, where he was the fastest on the first day. He will drive for Hitech in 2026 and serve as Cadillac F1’s third driver. The 25-year-old has nine IndyCar victories and says F2 is part of his dream to reach Formula 1. He believes Hitech is the best place to grow and face top young drivers.
