Alpine re-signs Franco Colapinto

Alpine has confirmed Franco Colapinto for the 2026 Formula 1 season. Colapinto was announced ahead of the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend and will be driving alongside his current teammate, Pierre Gasly. Colapinto brings in secure sponsorships with strong backing from Latin America.

Penske sets up independent officiating for IndyCar

Penske Entertainment will create its own independent board to handle IndyCar’s race and technical officials in 2026. The board will have three people who will run it separately from Penske’s main management. This move comes after criticism when Team Penske broke rules at the 2025 Indy 500. The goal is to make sure all race decisions are fair and not influenced by Penske.

Collet joins AJ Foyt for 2026 IndyCar season

AJ Foyt Racing has signed Caio Collet for the 2026 IndyCar season. The Brazilian finished second in Indy Nxt and has several wins in junior series. He tested the Foyt car at Mid-Ohio and did well. Collet will compete with support from Combitrans Amazonia and aims to be top rookie next year.

Aston Martin reshuffles technical team for 2026

Aston Martin is making big changes to its technical team before 2026. Aerodynamics director Eric Blandin and about six other senior staff will leave. The changes come after advice from Adrian Newey and new technical chief Enrico Cardile to improve the car and team work. New leaders in aerodynamics and simulation have already joined to help the team work better within F1’s budget rules.

Grosjean leaves Lamborghini after 2025 season

Romain Grosjean has ended his three-year run with Lamborghini after being part of the team in IMSA and endurance events. He joined in 2023, helped build the SC63 Hypercar, and finished fourth at Petit Le Mans in 2025. Lamborghini has stopped its Hypercar program to focus on a new GT3 car for 2026. It’s not yet known what Grosjean will do next.
