Lando Norris wins the sprint in Brazil
Lando Norris expands his championship lead from one to nine points after winning the Brazilian Grand Prix sprint race. Oscar Piastri crashed out of the race after hitting a wet spot on the track. Piastri failed to finish a second consecutive sprint race after sliding off the road and into the barriers through Turn 3. Bortoleto had a huge crash on the last lap of the race.

Corey Day joins Hendrick full time
Corey Day, 19, will race full time in the No. 17 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in the 2026 Xfinity Series. Last year, he ran 11 races, his best finish fourth at Las Vegas, and also competed in almost 30 other events. He has a strong dirt-track record, the Turkey Night Grand Prix and Gold Cup Race of Champions. Day will team up crew chief Adam Wall and aims to compete for a championship next year.

Toyota takes 1-2 in Bahrain pole
Toyota took its first 2025 pole in Bahrain as Kamui Kobayashi led teammate Brendon Hartley to a 1-2 finish, followed by two Peugeots in third and fourth while Ferrari’s Antonio Giovinazzi took seventh. Porsche and Alpine failed to reach the final round, and the Bahrain 8 Hours season finale begins on Saturday.

Sargeant joins Proton for WEC rookie test
Logan Sargeant, a former F1 driver, will test a Proton Mustang GT3 in Bahrain’s rookie session. He missed a planned LMP2 drive earlier this year but raced in two IMSA LMP2 events. He will test the car alongside Eric Powell and Giorgio Roda. The rookie session will let drivers try out the GT3 and prototype cars.

Gainbridge extends Indy 500 deal
IndyCar and Gainbridge have extended their deal to stay the main sponsor of the Indianapolis 500. Gainbridge has held this role since 2019 and is part of Group 1001, which also supports Cadillac in Formula One. The company also sponsors women’s sports like soccer, tennis, and basketball. Both IndyCar and Gainbridge say the deal shows their shared focus on growth, success, and fans.
