Hamilton to test Ferrari’s new suspension at Mugello

Lewis Hamilton will test Ferrari’s SF-25 at Mugello to evaluate a new rear suspension system aimed at fixing the car’s ongoing ride height problems. Charles Leclerc will join him for the session, which will take place under F1’s filming day rules that allow 200km of running. The test comes after Ferrari’s recent floor upgrade in Austria showed promising results. The goal is to confirm the new suspension before the Belgian Grand Prix, where limited practice time is available due to the sprint weekend format.

NASCAR adds new flap to keep cars grounded

NASCAR has added a new A-post flap to the Cup Series rule book to help keep cars from flying off the ground at Daytona, Talladega, and Atlanta. This comes after Ryan Preece went airborne at Daytona in both 2023 and 2025, which led to concerns about cars losing grip when sliding from pavement to grass. NASCAR’s Eric Jacuzzi said the flap was designed to reduce lift during a spin so the tires stay on the ground and the car slows down. The flap will be held by magnets and pop open when the roof flap activates, and it will first be used at the Coke Zero 400 next month.

Kirkwood has won three races this season and is fourth in the championship; he’ll race with the new sponsor starting July 18. After finishing second in Toronto last year, he’s hoping for another strong result on the street track.

Who will punch their ticket to Indy?

NASCAR's first-ever In-Season Challenge is down to four drivers: Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, John Hunter Nemechek, and Ty Dillon. None of them have won a race this season, and only Reddick has ever won in the Cup Series. The tournament started with 32 drivers and has gone through three wild races in Atlanta, Chicago, and Sonoma. Now the final four will race at Dover, and the two winners will move on to the final at Indianapolis to race for $1 million.
