Teams will struggle to meet 2026 weight limit
The 2026 F1 rules set a new car weight limit of 768kg, which is 32kg less than before. The smaller car size and narrower tires help, but the heavier electric batteries will make it hard for teams to meet the target. Getting to the weight limit will be important for performance because every 10kg extra means losing three-tenths per second. Team bosses like Christian Horner and Toto Wolff say it will be a tough and expensive challenge for all teams.

FIA to release findings of McLaren brake investigation

McLaren's MCL39 was selected by the FIA for a detailed inspection following the Miami Grand Prix, with a particular focus on the rear braking system. The FIA conducts additional checks on cars from the top 10 finishers to examine specific components. McLaren’s ability to manage tire temperatures, especially with their cooling system, has sparked concerns from rival teams like Red Bull. The FIA’s findings have not yet been released, but no violations have been reported so far. McLaren's boss, Andrea Stella, praised the team's work on managing tire temperatures and improving the car's cooling system.

Mercedes gears up for major upgrades
