Why Hamilton sold his £13m car collection

Lewis Hamilton has confirmed that he has sold his entire £13 million car collection, which once included rare Ferraris, McLarens, Mercedes models, and a Mini Cooper. The 40-year-old Brit said he is now more focused on art after clearing out his garages in Monaco and Los Angeles. His prized Pagani Zonda 760 LH had already been sold for profit in 2021, but Hamilton revealed in Baku that every car is now gone, stating, “I don’t have any cars anymore.” He admitted the only exception he might make would be buying a Ferrari F40, which he would keep as art, and also shared his dream of designing his own Ferrari inspired by the F40.

Who will survive the NASCAR round of 12?

Only 12 drivers remain in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series title fight as the playoffs head into the Round of 12 at New Hampshire, Kansas, and Charlotte Roval. Alex Bowman, Shane van Gisbergen, Austin Dillon, and Josh Berry have already been eliminated, leaving others like Chase Elliott, Austin Cindric, Ross Chastain, and Tyler Reddick under heavy pressure. Matt Weaver predicts Elliott, Cindric, Chastain, and Reddick won’t advance, while Nick DeGroot expects Reddick, Cindric, Joey Logano, and even Kyle Larson to be cut. Weaver believes Logano will survive by a slim margin, while DeGroot sees Chastain as the one who could just make it through.

Alpine second seat is between Colapinto and Aron

Alpine has decided its 2026 seat will only go to Franco Colapinto or Paul Aron, with no outside drivers being considered. Colapinto got his chance mid-season but is still waiting for his first point, and Briatore admits it might have been too early for him. Aron has less attention but is respected inside the team and seen as a calm, reliable choice. Alpine must now choose between Colapinto’s hard-earned experience or Aron’s steady promise to race next to Pierre Gasly.

Rick Ware Racing and Legacy settle charter lawsuit

Rick Ware Racing and Legacy Motor Club have ended their lawsuit and countersuit over a disputed NASCAR Cup Series charter. Ware has agreed to sell and transfer one of his charters to Legacy, although the exact terms were kept confidential. The conflict started because of confusion over which charter was promised to Legacy and how that clashed with Ware’s multi-year deal leasing charters to RFK Racing. While Ware confirmed it will keep running the No. 51 as a chartered entry in 2026, RFK Racing has not yet responded to the settlement.

Blomqvist tops IMSA practice at Indy

Tom Blomqvist went fastest in opening practice for the IMSA 6-hour race at Indianapolis with a 1:16.209 in the #60 MSR Acura, ahead of teammate Nick Yelloly and Jack Aitken. In LMP2, Mikkel Jensen led in the #11 TDS Oreca but triggered a red flag after contact with Lilou Wadoux, which means his car will lose its best qualifying time. Valentin Hasse-Clot set the pace in GTD with the #19 Aston Martin, while Davide Rigon’s #81 Ferrari was the quickest GTD Pro entry, just behind him. The session was interrupted three times by red flags, caused by Nicky Catsburg’s Corvette, Jensen’s crash, and Philipp Eng spinning into the gravel.
