Williams can’t shake off cooling problems

Alex Albon admitted that Williams is starting to fall behind in the midfield fight due to ongoing issues like overheating, which have disrupted races and even caused retirements. Despite a strong start to the 2025 season and a big improvement over last year, Albon acknowledged that rivals like Sauber and Haas are improving while Williams struggles to keep up. He confirmed that upgrades are in the works and hopes they arrive soon to help the team return to its earlier form. Carlos Sainz echoed similar frustrations, blaming missed opportunities on bad luck and team mistakes, but he remains confident the car has the pace to fight at the front of the midfield once everything comes together.

As punishment, NASCAR suspended RWR crew members Marquill Osborne (rear tire changer) and De'Quan Hampton (jackman) for two races. NASCAR also fined three Xfinity Series teams for loose lug nuts on the cars of Austin Hill, Dean Thompson, and Brennan Poole.
