Kurtz acquires 5% stake in Mercedes
Kurtz owns a five percent share of Mercedes F1, which is now worth $6 billion, a record for an F1 team. He paid with his own money and will join the team’s committee. The team’s value has grown more than seven times since 2020. George Russell is the main driver and is currently fourth in the F1 standings.

Perkins returns to Jordan Anderson Racing
Blaine Perkins will stay with Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport in the No. 31 Chevrolet for the 2026 NASCAR season. Last year, he did well and got four top-ten finishes. The team said he works hard and fits in well, and Perkins is excited to do even better. The team will share news about the No. 32 driver later.

Schumacher departs Alpine amid IndyCar interest
Mick Schumacher says he is done with Alpine’s WEC programme after two years, where he earned three podiums. He thanked Alpine for the support and said he wants to return to single-seaters. Mick has his eyes on IndyCar because it feels closest to what he wants to drive and gives him a better role as a driver. With a spot open at Rahal Letterman Lanigan, many expect him to move there next.

Chambers takes F1 Academy pole in Las Vegas
Chloe Chambers from Campos Racing got pole position for the F1 Academy season finale in Las Vegas. Hitech GP replaced their injured driver Aiva Anagnostiadis with Rachel Robertson and added Payton Westcott for a wildcard spot. Chambers beat Doriane Pin and Maya Weug with her fastest lap of 2m06.538s. Alba Hurup Larsen was third, Pin fourth, Weug fifth, and Nina Gademan will start first in the reversed-grid race.

Former Arrow McLaren team principal Ward joins RLL
Gavin Ward, who used to be Arrow McLaren team boss and a Team Penske race engineer, has joined Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in an advisory role. He has worked in Formula 1 with Red Bull and in IndyCar with Josef Newgarden in 2019. Ward left Arrow McLaren in October 2024 and, after his non-compete period, picked RLL over other offers. At RLL, he will help with projects and work again with some of his old colleagues.
