Is Alonso the unluckiest on the grid?

Fernando Alonso finished 15th in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix after making a false start that cost him places and gave him a five-second penalty. He said the Aston Martin AMR25 was too slow for the Baku track and complained that his bad luck always comes when the team is in a good position. Alonso has had four DNFs this year, three from car problems and one from a spin, and sits 14th in the standings with 32 points, two behind team-mate Lance Stroll. He thinks races like Las Vegas and Mexico will be tough, but hopes Singapore, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi can bring better results.

He will test at Mid-Ohio in the offseason and make his INDYCAR debut at the 2026 opener in St. Petersburg.

Azerbaijan GP breaks U.S. TV record

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix on Sunday pulled in 1.1 million U.S. viewers, the highest audience the race has ever had on television. That number beat the old record of 970,000 from 2021 and last year’s 865,000. So far this season, 11 of 17 races have broken viewership records, and F1 is averaging 1.4 million viewers on ESPN platforms, higher than the 2022 record of 1.21 million. The race itself was mostly processional after the first few corners, even though qualifying had been full of drama.

Lamborghini puts SC63 program on hold

The Lamborghini SC63 got better at Indianapolis after a new suspension was added, and drivers Romain Grosjean and Edoardo Mortara were happy with the changes, even though the car only finished 10th. It showed good speed in practice and qualifying and was fighting for a podium spot in the race until an extra fuel stop dropped it back. Lamborghini bosses said the SC63 will pause after the 2026 Motul Petit Le Mans because of higher costs, rule changes, and more work needed on the car. Still, Lamborghini will stay in IMSA with the Huracán GT3, Super Trofeo, and the new Temerario GT3.
