FIA clears McLaren of tire cooling breach
After the Miami Grand Prix, the FIA carefully examined Oscar Piastri’s McLaren, looking at the wheels and brakes. The FIA confirmed that all inspected parts complied with the 2025 Formula One Technical Regulations, including rules banning liquid cooling of brakes. McLaren was cleared of using any illegal “water trick” or liquid to cool its tires, despite rival teams’ suspicions. The report also noted that Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc’s car passed its own compliance checks for steering and clutch components.

Racing Bulls rolls out cautious upgrade for Imola
Racing Bulls is bringing a new floor and bodywork to the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, their first significant upgrade this season. Even though these parts are important, the team is making minor changes to avoid problems like last year, when a significant upgrade made the car slower. The midfield is very close, so even tiny improvements can help a lot in qualifying. After the Spanish GP, the team will decide if they should keep working on this year’s car or focus on next year’s, especially with new rules about the front wing.

Leclerc to miss media day at Imola
Formula 1 is coming back this weekend with the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. Ferrari said Charles Leclerc won’t be at media day on Thursday because he feels sick, but he should race in Friday’s first practice. Leclerc is fifth in the championship with 53 points, ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton by 12 points, even though Ferrari has had a tough season. In Miami, Hamilton passed Leclerc but then had to let him pass again, and the team boss said they talked things over calmly with no problems between the drivers.

Rookies slam Alpine’s unfair treatment of Doohan
Jack Doohan was under a lot of pressure from the start of the season and was dropped by Alpine after only six races. The team planned to replace him early on, no matter how he did, and never promised he would stay all year. Other new drivers say this was unfair and too harsh because Doohan did not have the best car and did not get much time to prove himself. Even experienced drivers like Alex Albon think Doohan should have had more time and support, because losing his race seat so fast is very hard for him.

Newey to make Aston Martin debut in Monaco
Adrian Newey will go to the Monaco Grand Prix, his first F1 race with Aston Martin after leaving Red Bull last year. He started working at Aston Martin in March but mostly stayed at their Silverstone factory to work on the new 2026 rules. Newey has helped a little with the 2025 car by talking about aerodynamics and listening to feedback from drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. He said the drivers’ opinions are significant for making the car better.
