Hungary exposes flaws in Red Bull’s 2025 approach
Red Bull failed to turn around a tough weekend at the 2025 Hungarian Grand Prix, leaving Max Verstappen with his worst qualifying result of the year in eighth place due to poor grip and a car that felt unstable all weekend. Verstappen said nothing worked with the setup, and even the team’s technical director admitted the car wasn’t responding as expected. Red Bull’s new team boss, Laurent Mekies, called it an uncomfortable weekend but stressed they would learn from the data and keep fighting, while Yuki Tsunoda showed progress by staying close to Verstappen despite missing Q2. Verstappen faces a difficult race, with a car clearly off the pace compared to rivals, but hopes to battle both those ahead and behind in changing conditions.

Key takeaways from FOX’s IndyCar deal
FOX has bought one-third of Penske Entertainment, which includes IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This move means FOX will help grow the series, not just by showing the races, but also by promoting drivers, creating big events, and reaching more fans. Their first year as a broadcast partner has already brought big results, like record viewership for the Indy 500 and more focus on making drivers known. Now that FOX is part-owner, they’re in a stronger position to help IndyCar become more popular and reach the bigger audience it has always wanted.

Although his team, Garage 66, is underfunded, Gase started 36th out of 37 in the Cup race and finished 27th in the Xfinity Series. His car, which had Hank Hill’s face on it, got a lot of attention at the track. Gase said it felt special to finally race in a Cup event in his home state.
