DRIVERS' CHAMPIONSHIP LEADER OSCAR PIASTRI TOPPED THE ONLY FREE PRACTICE OF THE WEEKEND AHEAD OF CHARLES LECLERC IN HIS FERRARI
We are back in Miami for the first and only practice session of the second sprint race weekend of the year. Here's a
- F1 announced Miami's extension through 2041 ahead of the session. This makes it the longest contracted race on the calendar.
- VCARB hits the track for the first time in their special Miami pink livery.
- Lando Norris had to drive his McLaren back into the pit box after the Papaya team left equipment in his cockpit. The FIA stewards will investigate the incident after the session.
- George Russell reported his car felt "very different" at the start of the session.
- Esteban Ocon impeded Lando Norris in turn 17.
- Ruth Buscome Divey reported from the pit lane during the session that the track is very dusty, which means there will be a lot of track evolution as rubber is laid down.
- Current championship leader Oscar Piastri brushed the wall on the exit of turn 16 with 9 minutes to go.
- Haas driver Ollie Bearman hit the barrier and brought out the red flag with 4 minutes left.
